Future Chennai

All Chennai road users are being caught in the midst of traffic jams while travelling. With the construction of the major traffic intersections carried out, what will it look like after these bridges are completed.

Just have a look of the photos of the bridges which will be coming up in the near future..

God Grants One Wish...

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer.
All of a sudden he said out loud, "Lord, grant me one wish." Suddenly the sky clouded above his head and in a booming voice the Lord said, "Because you have had the faith to ask, I will grant you one wish."

The man said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii, so I can drive over anytime I want to." The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the logistics of that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things.
Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify me."

The man thought about it for a long time.
Finally he said, "Lord, I have been married and divorced four times. All of my wives said that I am uncaring and insensitive. I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say "nothing" and how I can make a woman truly happy?
Now God thought about it for a long time.
After a few minutes God said, "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

Life's missed opportunities, at the end, may seem more poignant to us than those we embraced--because in our imagination they have a perfection that reality can never rival.

Frisbee

Having read many of the blogs on the frisbee event in Chennai, why not myself get into the play.
At first I thought its a simple game similar to a volleyball or basketball, but when arriving at the spot (Besant Nagar beach at 6.45 a.m. on 18Aug'07), I was quite surprised that the frisbee court is almost four times larger than that of a volley ball court.
So should I risk into trying to play this game?
So, stand to the side and just watch the players. Oh the camera phone is a nice utility to make the time a useful one.
In the midst I got the chance to have a guy learn me how to play a frisbee.

Here is a 4 minute video clip shot on my k750i mobile camera

and some of the photos taken at the event..

Mahen listening to the instructions being given by one of the team mates.

The guy giving instruction on some of the changes to be followed for fine tuning the play.

Vatsan - where is ur long hairs man??

Players getting in line for the start of the play.

Just the frisbee had made a fly past...

Teams in action.

There are 14 players in total

Ok, when shall we meet for the next event.

Ok lets make a move...

Then Mahen & me moved on to the shore to have a morning treat of the cool breeze.

A snap of the dilapidated building which has come up in many of the Tamil cinemas.

Mahen shooting me in his camera, I am awaiting to have a look of these photos to blog.

It seems an important sms arrived for Mahen.

What shall we do next. We are hungry, so shall we go to Murugan Idly shop.

Mahen why you have not asked for idly ?? Its Idly shop and you have ordered for a Dosa.

After a nice breakfast I got dropped at the Astalakshmi temple. This is probably the third time I am visiting this temple in my life time.
If my memory is correct I am sure that I have gone to this temple in the summer holidays of the year 1980 or 1982. I was there in Madras for my annual holidays. Then after a quarter century I have made the visit to this place in this year 2007. Years are flying. There is a vast difference in the landscape of the Besant Nagar.

A nice cool climate is a treat to the people living in this sea shore area.

Madras Boat Club

I was there at the Madras Boat Club on 19 Aug'07 for attending the first annual meeting of 'The Knowledge Foundation'. The meeting was very nice with many debates coming up. The schedule of forth coming programmes to be conducted by TKF has been fixed at the event.
Here are the photos taken at the MBC.

The front view of the Madras Boat Club.

The view of the Adyar river with nice reflection is awesome. But the stench of the smell is horrible.

Hotels in France

What you see in the photograph above is a high speed train [TGV] which everyone love to travel.
Why?
Yes, for people like me who love to travel in train, here in my country the superfast train will travel to the maximum of 120 kmph. But these trains in France travel at speeds of 320 kmph. Wow. But if we were to go to France the first thing we would like to do is get our passport and then the visa and after these itineraries are fixed the last thing is to find a comfortable place of accommodation.
To finalise the accommodation there is a website named cheaperthanhotels.co.uk. When I first clicked on this website the red colour images and the bold fonts all over the website gave me an impression to close the window in my PC. But on having closer look on the page, it had a smart information on giving us the option to sort on the hotel rates & other columns so that we could fix the comfortable price option. Its a nice website to fix the hotel rates for our travel to France. Oh the train ticket booking seems could be done only after going to France.

This is a sponsored post.

Photos & videos from Tamil Blog camp

The Tamil blog camp made the gathering a more interesting one with the presence of intellects of the tamil language. The participants got a visual treat of the world's second longest beach the Marina, before entering into the venue.

A
warm welcome to the bloggers..

The events ... Vicky giving the intro of the event. The message is that the workshop is everybody's event and each one of the participants is an organiser. Participants made sure that they got their seat before the start of the event.

Although similar camps connected with the blogging and the like will usually witness young chaps and techies, this is a unusual one with an equal number of senior academicians making their presence to the event.
The food token with catchy words, was made sure by the organisers the it was received by each and every participant arriving at the reception.
The programme witnessed the exchange of highly useful information between the people. While the discussion on "how far the Government has implemented? " kicked off, the hall witnessed innovative sparks from persons such as Americai Narayanan (above) and the practicalities involved in implementing such policies.

The brain behind the ekalapai, the support software for tamil language.
The websites / blogs connected with the tamil language. The workshop @ the first floor is a quite interesting session on how to start blogging.
The audience were hooked up with the teacher.

Myself tasting the hot & tasty coffee.
Apart from the workshop there were PCs kept in a separate hall for the people to test their blogging skills.

One of the senior most participants taking down notes. Googling has it become a verb ?? ...

The high level of interaction was seen at the workshop. The eldest person to the workshop being interviewed by the CNN-IBN news channel.

A thought for the people on the wise way of selling their ideas.
The youngest participant to the workshop.
Myself with Mahen.
Ramki discussing on how social blogging can be done successfully.
Muhammad Ismail, CEO of Digital Net Services gave a speech on how spyware becomes an unwelcome predators into the internet connected PCs. Some of the useful techniques to find out the spywares, keyloggers were video recorded by me at the workshop. The Youtube video podcast in Tamil is of 4':49" duration.

Poorna seen participating in an audition which included the various activities by the Tamil Bloggers of Chennai.

The organisers who had toiled to make this workshop a fruitful one.
The fruit had become more sweeter with the top headlines in The New Indian Express the next day flashing the moments of the Tamil Blog Camp.

Hats off to you organisers to make the event a roaring success and empowering participants.

Just a click of the evening seashore.
